Valerie Nash established Nash & Associates in 1994 and has spent the past three decades helping communities in the US and Canada achieve meaningful social change within high impact areas – health, housing, employment, public safety, disaster response and recovery, and education. She works closely with members of diverse communities, including:
- New immigrants and refugees
- Military connected families and veterans
- Native American and Canadian First Nations
- Homeless and housing insecure youth and families
- Survivors of abuse and trauma
Valerie’s clients range from small non-profit organizations and cross-sector coalitions to government agencies, hospitals, and institutes of higher education. Their common ground is a commitment to identifying and addressing inequities within stakeholder ecosystems.
Originally from Liverpool England, Valerie studied at Warwick University, Queen’s College Oxford, and Boston College. Prior to branching out on her own she taught high school social sciences in the UK and worked as a court-approved counselor to families engaged in the child welfare system.
She moved to Sechelt in 2005 with her husband and two daughters, and has been a proud dance Mom, Sandy Hook Community Association Board Member and co-owner of various boats. Now that her girls are at University she has become a member of the Sechelt Rotary and looks forward to having more time to volunteer and meet new people.
