Kim Darwin

Independent Mortgage Consultant

Kim grew up and raised her children on the Sunshine Coast. Prior to starting her career as an independent mortgage broker, she spent 16 years as a legal assistant. Kim’s passion is to work toward solving challenging problems and to make a positive difference in her community. Previously she ran in the 2017 and 2020 provincial elections, she has volunteered on a myriad of community organizations over the years and is currently the volunteer president of the Sunshine Coast Affordable Housing Society.

In her role as mortgage broker, it has become clear the rising cost of housing on the Coast has reached a crisis point. The lack of affordable housing has a compounding effect of “trapping” women living in dangerous situations. Kim is passionate about raising funds for the Building Together campaign as she has firsthand experience with having been “trapped” for many years in a physically violent relationship. She knows the difference safe housing can make in breaking the cycle of violence.

Kim believes when a community comes together to support one another, we can solve many difficult issues together.

“The lack of affordable housing on the Coast has a compounding effect of “trapping” women living in dangerous living situations. I am supporting this endeavour to ensure that women and their children have a safe place to move to.”
