Jennifer Oke

Professional Photographer

Jen is a photographer of people, places, and things. While photography is how she defines her career, she defines herself by the expanse and depth of her family life, exploration of art and design, and connections to the community.

As a parent, she embodies curiosity, hard work, and dedication. Here in Gibsons, her most recent experience in the arts been in returning to playacting after a 20+ year hiatus. She is self-taught in painting and music, but has formal education in Psychology & Interior Design. Perhaps most important to her, though, is her connection with others. She believes that by meeting people, connecting, and sharing stories, skills, and resources, we can help each other and make the world a better place.

This connective worldview is why she moved back to a small community after years abroad and in the city, and why she joined this project.

“I believe that by meeting new people, connecting, and sharing stories, skills, and resources, we can help make the world a better place.”
