Elisa Walker

CPA & CEO, Ocean Breeze CPA

Accounting, but she is also a passionate advocate for social change. Her career in public practice accounting has been characterized by deep involvement with various sectors including small businesses and not-for-profit organizations. This has endowed her with invaluable insights, a keen understanding of financial stewardship, and a desire to help others.

Elisa’s personal life is as rich and varied as one can be with the number of hours she works. A lover of family time with her parents and her two adult children, she also lives for fine wine with great friends. You will find her enjoying a good book, hiking, or spending time at the beach when she does gets out of the office.

Elisa settled into the Sunshine Coast from Kelowna only a few short months before the pandemic. The timing made her feel separated from her new community and she worried she would never consider it to be her home. As the restrictions lifted and normalcy arrived, she has found a community that resonates with her values and aspirations, inspiring her to engage more deeply through meaningful initiatives like “Building Together.”

Elisa’s commitment to the “Building Together” campaign is fueled by her personal journey as a mother, she hopes to bring to light the fears and uncertainties that many parents endure. The worry of not knowing where one’s child is can be overwhelming, and it is this experience that drives Elisa’s fervent advocacy for stable, safe housing. She understands firsthand how critical a secure home environment is for the well-being of women and their children, especially those in vulnerable situations.

“Everyone deserves to have a place to call home where they can feel safe and secure.”
