Karen retired early having completed a 25-year career in human resources management.
Together with her husband Ian, they relocated from North Vancouver to the Sunshine Coast in 1997.
Karen served as a director of Sunshine Coast Credit Union from 1997 -2012, was a director of Sunshine Coast Community Services from 1999-2005 (3 years as chairperson) and served as Co-chairperson of Sunshine Coast Resource Centre from 2005-2011.
In 1998 Karen joined the Sunshine Coast Healthcare Auxiliary where she continues to play key roles on their education committee and granting committee. She has also served on the provincial healthcare association as the Director of Communications.
(My favourite role is to be a great-grandmother to two beautiful five-year-old children – both live on the Coast!!!).
